✨ "I’d Love to Eat Slower"… But Real Life Happens.

Let’s be real: eating slowly sounds lovely, but when you're a mom, running a business, working, and juggling everyone's schedule—including your own—it can feel and be nearly impossible!

Still, slowing down just a little can make a big difference.
When you eat more slowly…
🍽 Digestion improves — Your body breaks food down more efficiently when you chew well and give it time.
🍽 You hear your hunger cues better — It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to catch up and say, "Hey, I'm full!" Eating slower gives your body time to respond.
🍽 Food actually tastes better — You get more satisfaction from the meal when you’re present with it (even if it’s a quick one!).
🍽 You can do it anywhere — Whether you're eating drive-thru in the car, dinner with the family, or snacks at a sports game, slowing down just a little still helps.
But Here’s the Thing…
Eating slowly isn’t always easy—especially for women who are always on.
Some real responses from the women I've coached:
“I only have 10 minutes to eat before a meeting or a meltdown.”
“I’m a mom of three—I eat standing up half the time.”
“I forget. I don’t even realize how fast I’m eating until it’s gone.”
“My food gets cold.”
“I’m just so hungry when I finally sit down.”
I hear you. These are valid reasons, not excuses!
So What Can You Do?
You don’t need to overhaul your life to slow down. Here are some small, real-life tweaks:
💡 Pick moments that feel doable
If lunch is chaos, try slowing down a bit at breakfast, dinner, or your nighttime snack—times when you have even slightly more control and less chaos.
💡 Add a mindful pause (no candles required)
Even if you’re feeding kids or multitasking, take a breath between bites. Notice the flavor. Chew just a few seconds longer. It doesn’t have to be perfect—it just helps you feel more connected to your food.
💡 Set a micro-goal
If you usually finish in 6 minutes, aim for 7. Put your fork down between bites or sip some water. Little wins matter, and they add up.
💡 Try music or a podcast
If eating feels boring, put on something fun. It can help you relax into your meal instead of racing through it.
💡 Give yourself grace
If slowing down doesn’t happen today, it’s okay. Maybe today’s win is eating a real meal instead of scraps. Or drinking water. Or sitting down. Progress is still progress.
